Patients should not take Augmentin if they:

Augmentin can be taken with or without food. If you take this medication regularly, do not drink alcohol while taking Augmentin. If you are taking Augmentin without a doctor's advice, do not take it without them as it may interfere with the effectiveness of the medication and lead to an infection.
Take Augmentin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dose is 500mg twice daily, usually taken as a single dose. Continue taking this medication for the full prescribed length of time, even if your symptoms improve, even if your symptoms feel better. If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Continue taking the medication as directed even if your symptoms feel better, even if your symptoms feel worse.
